pictures and a little note from the kopila kids

Dear Mom,

Hi! Lisa is writing this for us. We are having Satsung right now. It was a rainy day today. WE are going around the circle and everyone is adding to the letter.

We miss you SOOOOO MUCH! Our exams are finished and we had a Quiz Contest today (Lisa took pictures). Star house and Moon house won. It is our month theme.

We planted chinese grass in the garden and we trimmed trees. But we cut two down. Our garden is so beautiful and handsome these days.

This month the girls are buying green bangles and henna. Ramita didi is here but she is leaving soon. We are reading Conch Bearer and the current chapter is really good.  Please bring a speaker for dancing, books for the library, and a football.  In satsung we are dancing very nicely. We have lots of fun with Lisa. We had a Momo party on Shanti's birthday. Kalpana and Bindu's birthday is next Friday.  Namraj is talking more than before. And he is dancing also. He is so beautiful.

We really miss grandfather and grandmother, and Libby, and Kate and everyone and Uncle Ed. If you see our friends please say hi. Say hi to everyone and give them our love. Enjoy there and time with your parents.

We love you and come back soon!

xxoxoxo

The last picture is the aftermath of our nightly story time. After 20 minutes there are usually only 3 survivors.

Hey Maggie

I'm beginning a fund raising venture at Prescott College (where Kate and I went to school) with a bicycle-cart that serves 'real' (not boxed) chai tea. I have the blessings of the PC staff and a local church's non-profit status
for required liability insurance. I'll be spreading the word about the programs at Kopila and sending some support monies this Fall.
Looks like I've finally found a way to help out the children, without a plane ticket, on a retired social worker's income.
Blessings to you and the kids! Namaste' Richard
PS: Pictures of my 'ride' will be forthcoming.
