Notre Dame Wins!

We just wanted to take a moment to congratulate some of our favorite girls over at Notre Dame for their big win against Stanford in the Women's NCAA Finals yesterday!!!  The team sponsors 3 of our girls over here at Kopila Valley so we've been watching anxiously as they progressed through the tournament, and a little biased with hope that they would win it. Lindsay Brown and teammates are members of the She's the First Club (Notre Dame Chapter) working to enroll young girls, first of their generation, into school. Congratulations on a win well-deserved and thank you for your support!  We are so proud and we'll always be rooting for you over here from Nepal.

Congrats Lindsay Brown and Notre Dame on your victory and many thanks for another post. The posts not only keep me informed of the "happenings" at KVCH but the useful links that open up to a whole new world - being new to the issues, people, etc. in community service. Thanks again Mag. If I'm not mistaken - that's Hima in the middle, right?? She, as everybody else, has come a long way - success stories like hers bring so much satisfaction and joy, but do well up my eyes at the same time.

I hope you don't mind if I use this photo for my post today in honour of the National Blogging Campaign for Girl's Sports?

Your girls are the perfect picture of the importance of sports for girls.

YAY for Girls Sports!

How many of us were athletes as kids? I didn't know you played soccer too til I read it in the NTY. (I knew about Libby, of course...)

Maggie, was totally moved by the photo of Maya the other day... sports may be a great way to channel her energy. CHeck out my blog post for the National Women's Law Center Blog to Rally for Girls Sports Day: http://www.xpatadventures.com/the-making-of-an-adventurer-the-value-of-girls-sports

Ciao bella! Much love from Switzerland!
